The Tommy Pacello Placemaking Fellowship
When Tommy’s wife, friends, and colleagues thought about how to honor his memory, we tried to break down the elements of what made Tommy - TOMMY. Yes, he was both a city planner and attorney with the degrees and whatnot but most importantly a guy who believed in community, good times, and lending a hand up. How do we honor his ethos of “do better” and “make cool stuff?”
Voila, the Tommy Pacello Placemaking Fellowship was born. This project will award cash prizes to a individuals or teams that are making cool stuff. Not only do they get the funding, but perhaps most importantly, they get access to Tommy’s rolodex, benefitting from technical and professional guidance of his friends and colleagues.

Applications will be accepted until midnight on July 31, 2023. Although exact amounts will vary, the selection committee anticipates that most fellowship awards will be range from $5,000 to $10,000.

Tommy felt strongly about his daughters’ educational pursuits - no matter what they may be. It pained him that Colette & Cecile may not have every opportunity they deserved because of his illness. Friends and family created an educational trust to address that problem before his passing.
